By the time you read this Geoff and Elizabeth Williams will have upped sticks and moved to Barnstaple in Devon. Geoff has been with the club since his son Richard joined as a 12 year old. Richard is now a teacher at Haileybury School. Geoff has been an oustanding coach with the club, an official at meetings winter and summer, and was manager at Barnet Copthall Stadium when the Club was responsible for running the Stadium. .... | |

The outstanding performance of the day goes to the UNDER 15 BOYS (4 x 2,997m) (seen in picture) they won, beating a very strong Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow team by 27 seconds, in a time of 39.12. The time also broke the course record by 2 seconds. BILLY KELSEY 9.43 .... | |

Congratulations to Daniel Davies (Coach: Geoff Williams) who ran 2hrs34m56secs in finishing 114th in the Berlin Marathon last Sunday. This was a 14 minute improvement for Dan in just his second marathon. | |

On Sunday 11th September our YOUNG ATHLETES embarked on the first road relay of the winter season, the MIDDLESEX ROAD RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS , which took place at the Minit Centre, Hayes. Normally the Hertfordshire championships are held in conjuction, but this year they are being run at the Southern Road Relays. The Shaftesbury U20 Mens team enjoyed yet another National Junior League Final victory as they edged out overall winners Birchfield Harriers by just 4pts after a six hour battle to qualify to represent GB&NI in the 2012 European Clubs Championships.
