Chisolm Nwachukwu  Bami Falana 400m Hurdles  Martyn Patterson 400m  The Shaftesbury U20 Mens team enjoyed yet another National Junior League Final victory as they edged out overall winners Birchfield Harriers by just 4pts after a six hour battle to qualify to represent GB&NI in the 2012 European Clubs Championships. Our U20 Womens team finished a very creditable 3rd. Veteran team manager GEOFF MORPHITIS said at the Saturday evening team meeting, every point counted, so vitally important were the 6 points scored by BLADE ASHBY (who covered 5 events) in the "B" string PV at 2.00m, and the 6 points scored by BAMI FALANA in the "B" string 400m H and 110mH, his first attempts at these 2 events. 'We had a wonderful day with PBs all over the place, however, the one event I must highlight is the men’s Hammer where ANDREW ELKINS (who covered all 4 throws) won the "A" with a PB, and number one throw in the UK in 2011, of 67.78, and DEMPSEY McGUIGAN won the "B" with a PB of 67.25, and the number two ranked throw in the UK.
