Shaftesbury's U15 Boys GOLD Medallists at Southern Road Relays 24.9.11 The outstanding performance of the day goes to the UNDER 15 BOYS (4 x 2,997m) (seen in picture) they won, beating a very strong Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow team by 27 seconds, in a time of 39.12. The time also broke the course record by 2 seconds. BILLY KELSEY 9.43 (6th), ADAM THORPE 9.50 (1st), ROBBIE LIGHTOWLER 9.45 (1st), JOSEPH BRENNAN 9.54 (1st). The lone “B” runner was ALEX ABEDESSO who ran 10.36 (29th). 37 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by George Duggan of Tonbridge in 9.13. The UNDER 17 MEN (4 x 2,997m) took Bronze Medals in a time of 50.05. Winners were Tonbridge with 48.47. 36 teams completed. Result PHILLIP CROUT 12.11(6th) which was 10th fastest time, RORY COX 13.01 (8th), MICHAEL CALLEGARI 11.46 (2nd) which was the fastest time of the day, RORY MUDD 13.07 (3rd). We also ran a “B” who finished in 19th place with 54.01, CALLUM MCCORMICK 13.35 (35th), KYLE LANGFORD 13.39 (26th), ASHOK MATHUR 13.54 (22nd), JOE REDWOOD 12.53 (19th). The UNDER 13 BOYS (4 x 2,997m) team finished in 21st place, in a time of 47.59, Result FELIX BORDET-STEAD 11.21 (16th), DANIEL WILSON 13.33 (41st), NATHAN DAVIES 11.17 (28th), SAM MORRIS 11.48 (21st). Winning team was Tonbridge in 44.01, 45 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Thomas Kendrick of Tonbridge in 10.16. The UNDER 13 GIRLS (3 x 2,291m) team finished in 25th place, in a time of 27.58. Result LIANNE LANGFORD 8.30 (6th) for joint 9th fastest leg, JESSICA HURLEY 9.51 (19th), EMMA WHITEMAN 9.37 (25th), Winning team was Bracknell in 24.35, 69 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Hope Goddard of Bracknell in 7.51. The UNDER 15 GIRLS (3 x 2,997m) fielded 2 teams, the “A” finished in 16th place, in a time of 35.24, and the “B” team finished in 39th place, in a time of 37.58. Result “A” team NATALIE CONNOR 11.13 (11th), MOLLY GARDEN 11.52 (8th), CHLOE GOODSON 12.19 (16th). “B” Team EMMA DWAN 12.34 (44th), GAIA CASCIELLO 13.33 (53rd), SOPHIA PARVIZI-WAYNE 11.51 (39th). Winning team was Windsor in 32.20, 63 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Kate Shiel-Rankin of Aldershot, Farnham & District in 10.22. The UNDER 17 WOMEN (3 x 2,997m)“A” team finished in 15th place, in a time of 35.49. Result “A” team ELEANOR HUNT 11.06 (10th), HARRIET CLIFFORD 11.49 (9th), SUZU SATO 12.54 (15th). We had a lone runner in the “B” team YEE YEWT SMART who ran 14.01 (39th). Winning team was Chelmsford in 30.52, 29 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Jessica Judd of Chelmsford in 9.40. The SOUTHERN WOMEN’S INCLUDING MASTERS ROAD RELAYS also took place at the Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot on the 24th September. The SENIOR WOMEN (4 x 3,851m) followed in the footsteps of the Young Athletes, with the “A” team just missing out on a medal finishing 4th in 55.17, the winners were Aldershot, Farnham & District in 51.01. Our “B” team finished a solid 17th in 59.33. Result AMY CAMPBELL 13.23 (7th), SOPHIE CONNOR U20 13.45 (2nd), MELISSA COURTNEY U20 14.17 (2nd), VICTORIA WALKER U20 13.52 (4th). The “B” team REBEKAH GARDINER 14.38 (22nd), CIARA STEWART U20 15.27 (28th), GEORGIA BELL U20 13.58 (16th), ANNE RIDLEY V45 15.30 (17th). 45 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Charlotte Purdue of Aldershot, Farnham & District in 12.15. The SOUTHERN MEN’S INCLUDING MASTERS ROAD RELAYS took place at the Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot on the 25th September The SENIOR MEN (6 x 3,851m) had a good start to the race, but eventually finished in 21st place in a time of 1:59:49. Winners were Newham & Essex Beagles in 1:50:56. Result GLEN WATTS 17.59 (2nd) 4th fastest leg of the day, DAN WATT 18.23 (2nd), JAMES TRAPMORE 19.28 (24th), RONAN BREEN V40 21.13 (11th), MATTHEW GRANT 20.03 (12th), ERIC MAYERS V35 22.43 (21st). 68 teams completed, and the fastest leg was by Paul Pollock of Kent AC in 17.37. The Watford Open took place on the 21st September, with 19 humbugs competing. We had 3 winners during the evening, RICQUEL SMITH U20 won the 100m race 5 in a PB 11.55, he also won the 200m race 3 in a PB 23.41, NANA NOTTINSON-NYAAKU won the 100m race 6 in a PB 11.33, GLEN WATTS who won the 3,000m in a PB 8:20:95. Remaining results, NENGI OSSAI V35 in the 100m race 7 was 3rd in 11.25, also in the 200m race 5 was 3rd in 22.60, MATT MCLAUGHLIN U17 in the 400m race 2 was 2nd in 50.66, MARTIN BIGG in the 400m race 2 was 4th in 53.16, LIANNE LANGFORD U13 in the 800m race 1 was 2nd in 2:31:32, AVI FOGELMAN U20 in the 800m race 2 was 2nd in a SB 2:17:56, KIERAN MORELAND U20 in the 800m race 3 was 2nd in a SB 2:02:52, ADAM THORPE U15 in the 800m race 3 was 4th in a PB 2:05:06, DANIEL ABREY U20 in the 800m race 3 was 5th in a SB 2:07:93, JOE HEADLAND U17 in the 800m race 3 was 8th in 2:10:26, KEVIN KAPAPIRO U17 in the 800m race 3 was 11th in a PB 2:12:69, TOM BROOKS U20 in the 800m race 4 was 2nd in a PB 1:59:03, KYLE LANGFORD U17 in the 800m race 4 was 7th in 2:01:29, CIARA STEWART U20 in the 1,500m race 2 was 9th in a PB 4:51:50, ALEX ABADESSO U15 in the 1,500m race 3 was 9th in a PB 4:38:66, EUAN MCKENZIE U20 in the 3,000m was 2nd in a PB 8:56:52, JOSEPH BRENNAN U15 in the 3,000m was 5th in a PB 9:21:59. In the BERLIN MARATHON on the 25th September DANIEL DAVIES ran his second Marathon and finished in a splendid time of 2:34:56; a pb by 14 minutes The Swansea Bay 10km was run on the 25th September, attracting a quality field. KOJO KYEREME V35 was the first veteran home, and finished in 21st place, running 33.04. The World Mountain Running World Championships took place in Tirana, Albania on the 11th September. British teams were the third most successful nation over the four events, with 30 countries taking part. The course was a challenging 13.07km, and the official shade temperature at 9.00am was 30 degrees centigrade. In the Senior Men’s race ORLANDO EDWARDS finished a superb 25th, in a time of 58.51, he was the third GB runner home, and the first GB runner was 21st. The GB team finished in 7th place, with the Italian team winning yet again. | |
